Indie means independent and pop means popular - thus doing something that is deliberately calculated to be independent of the popular trend disqualifies you from being a pop band and equally playing songs designed to appeal to the mainstream disqualifies you from being indie.

The news came out this week that the FAST acquisition is complete and that we will continue to support the FAST technologies on Linux and UNIX, as a separate product from SharePoint, for the forseeable future.
